Who We Are
thedeepstate.in is published by the Deep State Network, an independent digital news organisation. We are a journalism-first operation: our reporting is produced and edited in-house, and our editorial decisions are made by our newsroom.
Editorial Independence
We have no corporate parent dictating coverage and no political affiliation. No advertiser, partner or funder has any influence over what we choose to investigate or how we report it.
Where any commercial relationship could create a perceived conflict of interest, we disclose it within the relevant story.
How We Are Funded
Our work is supported by our readers and by clearly labelled advertising. We are building toward a reader-supported model so that our journalism always answers to the public interest rather than to commercial pressure.
We do not accept funding that comes with conditions on our editorial coverage.
Transparency
We believe a news organisation should be as accountable as the institutions it covers. We publish our editorial standards openly, correct our mistakes in public, and welcome scrutiny of our work.
