New Tourism Strategy Unveiled
The Rajasthan Tourism Department is set to focus on discovering and developing lesser-known tourist destinations across the state. Officials believe that promoting unexplored locations will help distribute tourist traffic more evenly and create new economic opportunities for local communities.
Speaking at the stakeholder meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari emphasized the importance of expanding Rajasthan's tourism appeal beyond its traditional attractions. The government plans to work closely with hotel operators, travel agencies, tourism experts, and industry stakeholders to generate innovative ideas for attracting visitors throughout the year.
A major priority will be encouraging off-season tourism, reducing dependence on peak travel periods and ensuring steady visitor inflows during summer and shoulder seasons.
Focus on Pre-2019 Tourist Levels
The department has also set an ambitious target of restoring tourist arrivals to levels seen before 2019. Officials discussed increasing participation in travel fairs, strengthening promotional campaigns, and enhancing collaboration with travel trade organizations and media partners.
Infrastructure improvements, destination branding, and digital marketing initiatives are expected to play a key role in the strategy.
